[Intro]

............

[Verse 1]
C Em
Baby, we were just a masterpiece
C Em
Up there on the wall for all to see
         F
We were body and soul,
         D
we were talked about
     F
Once you've been framed,
     G
you can't get out

[Chorus 1]
F G C
Who's brave enough to take it down?
F G C
Who's fool enough to lose the crown?
F G Am
We're just another thing they'll all forget about
F G Am
 They'll be standin' around laughin'
F G C
 Like nothin' ever happened

[Verse 2]
C Em
Baby, we were just a rodeo
C Em
Shinin' up our buckles for the show
      F D
Our knuckles white, we held on tight
           F
'Cause the longest ride,
            G
makes the crowd go wild...

[Chorus 2]
F G C
Who's gonna open up the gate?
F G C
No hope of ridin' to the eight
F G
 We ain't the cowboys,
 Am
honey, we're the clowns
F G Am
They're all standin' around laughin'
F G C
 Like nothin' ever happened

C Em
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
C Em
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

[Verse 3]
C Em
Baby, we were just a country song
C Em
I'm still doin' time, the King is gone
    F
I tried to stand,
 D
by my man
         F
We were makin' plans,
               G* *hard down strokes
we were makin' plans

[Last Chorus]
F G C
Who's brave enough to take it down?
F G C
Who's fool enough to lose the crown?
F G Am
We're just another thing they'll all forget about
F G Am
 They'll be standin' around laughin'
F G C
 Like nothin' ever happened

C Em
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

[Song Review]
What is with this album?? I swear that every melody, every piece of lyrics is just heavenly. You can feel the sadness. And not the "corporate sadness" of singing sad country songs just to sell 'em CDs (if people even buy CDs today), you can feel that the songs in Interstate Gospel is personal and is very close to their hearts. Bravo!
